I'm fascinated by vampires. I really never was much of a fan of Dracula, or even Anne Rice, although I like some of her work and the rich characterizations she does. But I really got hooked when the series Kindred: The Embraced came on, even though I didn't know anything about the role playing games by White Wolf at the time. Since then, it seems as though my awareness of vampires has increased – but I still get caught by the whole idea of them from physiology to philosophy... they make me think, and kind of in a logical, make sense of it all biologically and culturally, kind of way.

So, if vampires aren't your thing, if strong language and visuals, sexual violence or despair aren't your thing, well this may not be your thing either.  It's all original, drawing on a lot of apocryphal sources. Building these characters is just beginning – this universe, this idea, and I'm probably not done with them yet...
